he eyes her
every move
thinking
she’s his type
feeling
he’s in love
with her love
with her,
his moveable type
cast in cotton

***

she looks
at him
coolly
cat-like
sensing
his unruly
gawk and gaze

distracted,
the fickle lover
of love
wants to take her
to find out
what’s waiting inside
her

***

her dress
is print too,
colourful
cartoonish,
leaving him
wordless and
cooing like a
kitten

hmmm
he says
and kicks into
motion, feeling
moving pictures
move him
in real time

***

words & pictures
completely disappear
and his sense
of which direction
to move in
wafts away
like sulfurous sewer gas
gusting up
from the street
into the cool air
